Eastern Connecticut State University Congratulates the Undergraduate Class of 2016
More than 12,000 family members and friends filled the XL Center in Hartford on Tuesday, May 17, to cheer on their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, as 1,221 undergraduates and 25 graduate students received their diplomas at Eastern Connecticut State University's 126th Commencement exercises.

More than 250 talented students at Eastern Connecticut State University presented research and creative work at the university's second annual CREATE conference this past April. CREATE stands for Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern, and is the university's premier, academic year-end showcase. At the culminating event, students of all majors presented professional posters, live music, dance performances, artwork, photography, documentaries and panel discussions.

Student Zane Lombardo Completes Summer Research Fellowship
Every summer, a high achieving Eastern Connecticut State University student is selected for a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. The 2015 summer research fellow was Zane Lombardo, a senior biochemistry major from Portland, CT. His research, "Biophysical Studies of Fluorescent Calcium-Binding Proteins," examines the concept of "cooperative binding" within the field of biochemistry.
